While not being as soft or elastic as wool, linen has many other wonderful properties. It's woody texture is quite pleasant, and unusual, and, once washed it drapes well. Also, it does get softer as it ages.
I used this yarn to make a dishcloth, and it's the best! It also blends well with other yarns when knitted as one of two strands.
If you have eczema or skin allergies, not only will they not be aggravated by linen fibre, but your skin will feel more comfortable as this is anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory. Linen is also highly absorbent, helps to regulate body temperature. Additionally, linen softens with age, so your garment will grow more beautiful over time.
Use 3.50 to 4.00mm knitting needles.
